Program 1 of Light for Freedom– True Freedom
Cecilia: Thank you for being with us on this program, Light for Freedom. I am with Gregory Kerr. Thank you, Gregory, for being with us.
Gregory: Grazie mille, Cecilia.
Cecilia: Well, I would like to tell our audience that the topic of today is wonderful, amazing. It is about real freedom. What is real freedom, Gregory?
Gregory: In the scripture, our Lord said that he had come to set the captives free. And it is through the freedom of his mercy, the freedom and hope of his forgiveness, that we are transformed by the power of his passion, death and resurrection that was fulfilled by love.
Our Lord so often says, that love fulfills all things and that we are being called to the freedom of his love each day, his love that frees us through his compassion and his desire to embrace us with hope in which he says . . .
Our Lord Jesus: “Come to me, my dear children, I am always waiting for you. I do not desire that you live in bondage. Satan desires that you live in the bondage of darkness and not in the light of the truth because the truth sets you free, the truth that comes through loving me, the truth that you receive through the power of prayer when I said, ask and you shall receive, knock and the door shall be opened according to my will. I desire to open your hearts in faith, through prayer, in knowing and trusting that when you open your hearts to me, you open your hearts to the light, the light of freedom. The light for freedom that calls you to come and take my hand and let me lead you each day beyond your fears to heal you of your despair, of your discouragement, of the desolation that you may feel and to restore your hope.
Because I know your hearts, my dear children, and I, your Jesus, am love for each one of you. I am love and love, love, is all things. I gave myself as a sacrifice that you may have life through the repentance and forgiveness of your sins. Repent, repent, and let me make your hearts whole in my mercy by entrusting your hearts to me and giving your lives to the light that I may walk you out of the darkness of all bondages that are not of the light. Because the light shall bring you joy. And the light shall bring you peace.
I am the light and I desire to be your peace. I desire to be your love. My heart cries for you in my desire that you unite your hearts to my heart each day. Listen to me because I am there and freedom is not a place. It is by accepting me as your Savior, your redeemer, your light, that you may live with greater joy and hope. I desire that my heart beats with your heart.
Yes, I desire that my heart be so closely united to your hearts that my heart beats within you through the power of my Holy Spirit to renew your lives and to make you a new creation in love.
This message is a great message of love that says, come and follow me. Follow me within your hearts. Give me your hearts, minds, bodies and souls to live only for me, to live with hope. Because when you stand with me, you stand in hope, my dear children, when you stand with me, you stand with a greater strength.
And how do you grow closer to me? Through prayer. Through prayer and open your hearts to me with simple words of love to say, help me, my Jesus. Help me. Renew my mind, renew my heart. Give me strength so that I may continue in my darkest days.
I desire to give you the gift of salvation that is eternal.
Where each one of you is now, and these are my words, where each one of you is now is not a place of permanence. The gift of eternal life is eternal and permanent.”
Gregory: Yes, our Lord desires to free you in the peace of his love. I have experienced many sufferings in my life and I have lived in the bondage of those sufferings that were preventing me from growing in faith. But when I gave my life and my heart to God, he gave me life within me.
Yes, and I cannot live without him. Each day I must turn my heart to him to be my strength, to be my hope, to be all for me that he expressed in his message to you. Each day I cry out for God’s mercy to give me peace and light. I pray for the Holy Spirit to illuminate me with his love. And through my sufferings, I became more compassionate towards the sufferings of others.
Our Lord said that he uses evil for good when we allow him to transform our hearts, when we unite ourselves in our hearts to his heart, our sufferings to his sufferings.
Yes, and then we gain strength. Each day we gain a greater strength and faith to build a new foundation of faith within us, to walk in the clarity of the truth because our Lord said the truth will set you free.
It is the truth that we receive in his gospel message, in the purity and the light and the strength of the word of God to heal us, to transform us, in which Jesus says, come to me. Come follow my example of love, my example in the footsteps of my love.
I chose this image for the program so that we may all walk into the light of freedom but for freedom. We must enter the light of God’s love each day for his mercy and forgiveness to free us.
I know how difficult it is. But I have not walked in your footsteps. Because who could walk in the footsteps of our lives with judgment? Our Lord said, to love as he loved us and to not judge as he does not judge. We must embrace each other with love, with greater compassion and understanding, to become living saints for God, sanctified by his love and made whole and holy.
Our Lord once expressed to me that we must never forget our call to sanctity and we are all called to sanctity. We must continue to persevere on the path of the light, to bring us out of the darkness, and to rise and say, we stand with you, Jesus. Because when we stand in truth, we stand with God.
And when we stand with God, we stand with a greater faith. Through faith, we increase in hope. Our Lord said that love is the greatest gift and we are all called each day to learn the greater love of God.
Cecilia, do you have any questions?
Cecilia: Yes, yes, I have a lot of questions. So, what for you means real freedom? What is real freedom?
Gregory: Real freedom for me means living the truth of God’s word each day. And in seeking to love God for his greater glory, as well as to love my brothers and sisters, because I believe in the expression of love, we receive the fruits of love.
Yes, fruits that renew our hearts each day. Freedom for me is living in the peace of God each day, seeking to know him and to trust in his mercy in a greater way for my life, to trust in the mercy of his passion.
Cecilia: You remember, Gregory, when Jesus was in prison. I read in The 24 Hours of the Passion of Jesus that Jesus never felt imprisoned because his heart and his love made him to be not imprisoned. It was no matter if he was in prison and he was in a difficult situation.
Gregory: Yes, because his heart was united in love with the heart of our Father. And that he who is the light chose to stand in the light by saying in his passion, “Father, not my will, but your will. If it is your will, take this cup from me. But if not, not my will, your will, Father.”
He was saying, Father, I give you my life because no greater thing than this is to lay down your life for your brother. And from his Cross, he said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Our Lord’s path and his call to follow his path was always to set us free, to redeem us so that we may live in the light. Do you understand, Cecilia?
Cecilia: Yes, yes.
Gregory: In other words, our Lord was never bound. Not only because he was God, but because he was also man, and he experienced every temptation, but he chose to deny, to reject Satan and the ways of darkness.
Yes, in the name of being our Savior and the example that he calls us to follow. Because, my brothers and sisters, faith is a choice each day.
In her great Annunciation, in her great, “Yes,” for humanity, Our Lady said, may it be done to me according to your will. In the greatest pain in my life, I chose to embrace the Cross. I chose to see God with all my heart and to follow the path of the faith. Although I am weak and a sinner and I am imperfect, I choose to allow God to perfect me in his grace each day by living the path of the faith and the path of the light.
This is our first program of light for freedom. And for me, it is really important to connect with your hearts in God’s mercy, to say that I am with you and that you are not alone. Because although we have walked different paths in life, we are united in the love and the body of Christ. We are united in his hope and I wanted to come to you in hope, to bring to you light, to say, take the hand of our Lord each day and follow the path of all that is good.
Yes, allow God to sanctify you, to purify you in his mercy through your repentance and desire, to bring change into your lives. Because we are called to be new creations, but in that, we must make the choice for change.
I understand change is difficult and that faith is a discipline. Every day I must discipline myself in the faith to protect my mind from thoughts of darkness, to think about what I am thinking about.
Yes, are my thoughts of the light or are they of the darkness?
Yes, to seek to repent each day that I may grow in the sanctity of the faith. I desire it. I want it. But most importantly, God desires it for us and the gift of salvation that he calls us to.
Cecilia, do you have any other questions?
Cecilia: Yes, Gregory, when you are in difficult situations that make you feel you are not free, what do you do?
Gregory: I have felt the anxiety, the frustration, even the hopelessness and despair but through the power of prayer and reading the scripture, the practice of the faith, receiving the sacraments within my heart and choosing to live the sacraments each day, I continue to bring the Light for Freedom within my heart. Because faith is a process and we are all evolving in faith.
I had to offer myself to God’s mercy, his forgiveness, his love, his hope, by trusting in his mercy to heal me. But first I had to make the choice to seek our Lord.
Yes, to say, help me, guide me, strengthen me. Renew my hope each day. Because trust me, we can have everything, but if we do not have the love of God, we have nothing.
Avete capito?
Cecilia: Yes. We have to trust him.
Gregory: Yes, we have to say, Jesus, I trust in you, I give myself to you. Lead me, guide me, show me the way. In the darkest moments of my life, I had to seek the light of truth. Because through the faith, we share in the victory of Christ’s passion and resurrection.
Victory through faith, we share in the victory of freedom, the freedom of trusting that there is no sin greater than God’s mercy to forgive.
Cecilia: Oh, I love it. I love it. So, sisters and brothers, we are very happy to be with you. We will pray for you.
Gregory: I want to share with you that I really want to come to you in love. I want to come to you in the love of God and the love of hope and in the strength of God’s mercy that heals us.
Because our Lord once said to me, Love, love, love. It is everything. And to pray, pray, pray, to pray for deeper faith, to pray for healing and hope, and to pray to live in the light of his strength. Because prayer produces a deeper faith, prayer produces a greater trust because we trust in him through prayer. And through prayer, we are led into the Light for Freedom. Amen.
Cecilia: Amen.Thank you, Gregory.
Gregory: Grazie, Cecilia.
Cecilia: Thank you for being with us in this program for freedom.
Gregory: May God be with each one of you and we stand united together to walk within his arms of mercy each day and to rise in the hope of his love. Amen.
Cecilia: Amen.
